Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum stands tall in being the most classified and notorious historical place in Cambodia. Alternatively known as Genocide Tourism, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum has witnessed an increase in the number of tourists over the last 10 years. Director atChoeungEk, ChhourSokty says that approximately 700 visitors visit the killing fields. The memorial stands to protect the memoir of almost 2 million beings who died a horrific and cruel death during the 1975-1979 killing by Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge.

Package rates are full day Phnom Penh city tour that includes the museum at the rate US$110. Also, there is an optional package of US$28 that includes a half day tour of the Tuol Sleng Museum and Cheung Ek Killing Fields. Best mode of transport for overseas tourists

The Phnom Penh International Airport is the nearest terminal to reach Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. By train, there is a service running fromKampot to Phnom Penh on the Southern Line. These "Bamboo Trains" run through the town but the most frequent ones run near Battambag.The best possible way to reach Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is through street 278 near Toul Sleng or through S21 which runs through Street 360 off Monivong B oulevard which moves through both 278 and 360 Streets, which are easy to access from Cambodia. You can leave Toul Sleng/S21 by 2 PM after you have reached hotel to visit the museum. From here taking a tuk-tuk you can visit ChoungEk Killing Fields which is 14 Km from S21/Toul Sleng and takes about 40 minutes to reach. 

General information, entry fees, etc.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum opens at 7 am in the morning and closes at 11.30 am. It reopens at 2 pm and closes at 5:30 p.m. The Entry fee is US$2. The entrance of the museum is towards the west side of 113 Street and in the north of 350 Street.

As a tourist, nobody will have a rare idea what they are going to see in the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, where Khmer Rouge butchered more than 17,000 people including children.
